Welcome to the final issue of our West Virginia 811 magazine for 2021. I would like to take a moment to thank the advertisers and supporters of our damage prevention efforts who have made it possible to send this magazine to our members and users across the state.
The magazine is just one tool West Virginia 811 uses to educate stakeholders to call before they dig. And now, because enforcement is solidly in place, this magazine will become even more important because damage prevention professionals will begin to turn to the West Virginia 811 Magazine to learn the latest enforcement news as it becomes available.
In this issue, we are printing the second part of a two-part series of the West Virginia Excavator Manual. Also, a reminder that West Virginia’s dig law is now enforceable. If you suspect that someone is violating current law, you can report the incident by going to https://www.wvdpb.com/report-violation, complete the form and click the submit button.
2021 has been a very busy and exciting year. The Paradigm Pipeline meetings have been virtual for the second year in a row. This year, West Virginia 811 created a short (10 minute) video promoting safe digging and call before you dig that was incorporated with the Paradigm meetings. The video was well-received by attendees at these meetings and we are now offering the video to our members and users of the 811 system in two formats. We can provide it to you as an mp4 file or we can send you a DVD. Either way, the video would be a great fit for your next tailgate or safety meeting. Give us a call if you’d like to have a copy for your company.
Thanks again for your support and feedback. It has been my pleasure to work with you again this year. I trust you will start the holiday season off with a great Thanksgiving. Best wishes throughout the remainder of the year!
Let’s close out the year on a good note by calling 811 before you dig!
